Who doesn’t love a good sunset or sunrise? They are just so dreamy and magical. Whether it’s a dramatic and vivid sunset or that kinda magical feel about an early sunrise, the beginning of a new day and that feeling like you have the world to yourself. Although after a long stressful day travelling, there’s nothing better than chilling out watching the sun go down and feeling that wave of calm breeze over you.
So I have been going through my old travel photos to hunt down the best sunrises/sunsets I’ve managed to capture on camera ๐
Sunset: Kerala, India
This is probably one of, if not the best sunsets I’ve seen. Floating along on a small boat, the air still warm from the heat of the day, drifting through palm trees reflecting off the water and listening to the noisy exotic wildlife, was spectacular.
Sunset: Etosha National Park, Namibia
This one was pretty special. I watched these elephants drinking from the waterhole by the camp site for hours, it kinda felt like I was inside a David Attenbourgh documentary!
Sunrise: Plettenburg Bay, South Africa
I always remember this one because it was the day I did the world’s highest bungy bridge jump and I woke up so nervous! Everything was engulfed in this pink mist.
Sunrise: Angkor Wat, Cambodia
Photographers line up along the waters edge to get that classic sunrise shot of this beautiful temple.
Sunset: Huanchaco, Peru
The best downtime after hiking around Peru was to sit on the beach with a beer in hand and watch the surfers, whilst the sun went down.
Sunset: Desert, Namibia
Strolling along the sand dunes somewhere in Namibia. There’s something special about Africa. I love the warm, earthy tones that gives it a real ‘homely’ feel.
Sunset: Serengeti, Tanzania
Camping out under the stars after a safari and this is what we fell asleep too. African sunsets rarely disappoint!
Sunrise: Zanzibar, Tanzania
I love an island sunrise, it’s so quiet, peaceful and dreamy.
Sunrise: Mt Batur, Bali
Had to work for this one! Took around 2 hours to climb up but I’d say it was worth it ๐
Sunset: Udaipur,ย India
Another gorgeous one from India, the colours are so vivid here and I love the silhouette of the temple. Classic India.
Sunrise: Khao Sok National Park, Thailand
After staying on the floating bungalows I woke before everyone else and took a few shots of the sun coming up. The water was so still and clear it was like looking into a mirror.
Sunset: Queensland, Australia
During a weekend break from Brisbane, the Gold Coast hinterland was the perfect setting for a mini getaway.
Sunrise: Outback, Australia
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere! A dramatic sunrise to start another hot day in the outback.
