Buying a gift for someone who loves travel? Maybe you’re the traveller and are looking for some handy items to pack for your adventure? (gotta treat yourself!). Gift buying can be hard, so I have put together a list of handy items that travellers will love. From travel essentials to cute gifts for when your back home, this list has all the gifts travellers will love!

Travel Gadgets

Kindle

Hundreds of books in your bag! The paperwhite reads like a book with no glare from the sun, plus the charge can last for weeks. Great for travelling if you love reading but have little room in your bag for all those books ๐Ÿ™‚

Travel Tripod

If you’re looking for a tripod at the budget end then I can really recommend this one. It’s lightweight but not so much that it will fall over! Plus it packs up so small into a nice little carry bag. A great tripod for it’s price and features!

Go Pro!

The Go Pro has become a staple gadget in so many backpacks, due to it being such an all-rounder. It’s waterproof, tough and great for capturing water sports, zip lining and everything else action wise! Plus it doesn’t take up much room. This is the latest go Pro HERO (2018) and is more budget friendly than the HERO 6.

Digital Camera

If you want great shots, then it’s worth investing in a good camera. This is the Sony RX100M3, the slightly later one that I have at the moment. Even the earlier version is an excellent point and shoot camera (on the higher end of the scale). It takes great low light photos, has wifi capabilities and a tilt-able viewfinder so you can see yourself. Plus the photos are pretty high quality for the price you pay. If you are an amateur photographer like me then this is a great camera to get you started. It’s also small enough and light enough to fit in your pocket.

Dingbats A5 Notebook

If you’re looking for a better quality notebook but still reasonably priced, I came across these online. These notebooks are so cute, with a variety of colours. Each has a different animal printed on the front. Minimal and stylish, plusย 100% environmentally friendly and vegan!

Travel Money Box

I saw this in a shop and thought what a wonderful gift it would make for first time travellers. So glad I found it online- supper cute to encourage saving for your trip! (every penny counts!).

Passport Cover

These cute passport covers are a thoughtful little gift for someone and come in so many colours and patterns so take your pick! (Do not get these confused with passport/document holders, which carry passports and cards together- you should not have all your important stuff in the same place!)

Jewellery Case

After struggling for years with my necklaces tangling in my bag, I may have come across something oh so very helpful here! These little jewellery cases are tiny and practical. No more time wasted fiddling around with your necklaces in knots!

Travel Essentials

Packing Cubes

These are a total game changer when it comes to packing! They can save a lot of space, plus they are great to organise your clothes. Packing cubes have made searching for items in my backpack much less stressful for sure!

Universal Travel Adadpter

Well, this should definitely be on your list! These universal adaptors are soooo useful and they charge usb also. Getting a universal adaptor means you won’t have to stress, not knowing if it will work or not as they work everywhere!

Insect Repellentย

Well I don’t need to go into too much detail I’m sure! This is a must unless you want to get bitten to death! Jungle Formula I have found to be my favourite (not sure it’s sold in US so I’ve put Amazon’s choice of Repel which also does the job well!).ย

Padlocks

Another must have item if ya wanna keep your stuff safe (I’m assuming you do!). Definitely get 2 as you will need one for the hostel locker or your hand luggage as well.

Dry Bag

These bags are great as they’re totally waterproof so fantastic for keeping your gear dry when doing water sports, or maybe for a day boat trip or something. If it’s monsoon rain then you can put your valuables inside your bag to keep them extra dry! I find they also make a great dirty laundry bag too!

Microfibre Towel

These towels are perfect for travelling! They are lightweight, roll up much smaller than a regular towel and dry quickly- perfect if your on the go.

  1. What a great list! I have an e-book reader (great space saver). And I really, really want that pretty passport cover!

  2. Great recommendations! I pretty much travel with most of these items. I think perhaps one of the most useful (and oft-forgotten) items on the list is a dry bag. I’m glad to see you included it here.

  3. Padlocks are such a great idea! Cheap and easy to give as a gift, but soooo helpful when traveling, whether it’s staying in a hostel dorm or putting your bags underneath (or on top of) a bus.

  4. I need a GoPro already! I don’t always do adventure travel, but when I do I always want to document it in some way! I need to drop some hints to family to get it as a present ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. I loved the travel money box. It is cute and super inviting to put in money every day. All the other ideas are great. I am meaning to gift my husband something for his birthday and this list is a life saviour.

  6. That’s a great list! That microfiber towel is a fabulous idea, I should give it a try ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Great list of interesting products. I would love to recieve a go pro as a gift for sure ๐Ÿ˜Š
