The land down under has been drawing in tourists for years and it’s easy to see why with the year round sunny weather (well, mostly). Here are some of the top instagrammable photography spots in Australia guaranteed to up those Instagram ‘likes’.
Icebergs Sydney
It’s one of the worlds most photographed pools and situated at the Southern end of Bondi Beach. Watch as the waves break over the open air pool.
Surfers Paradise
Although the town may be a bit ‘tacky holiday resort’, there are still some great photos to be had here. From the towering buildings against white sand and bright blue sea, to the awesome views from the SkyPoint Observation Deck.
Uluru, Outback
Where else can you find a HUGE rock sitting on it’s own in the middle of a desert?! Instagrammable for sure!
The Outback
When you think of Australia this may be what first comes to mind- desert, sunsets, sunrises, orange sand and nothing for miles around. Some of the best photography is off the beaten path. Pose next to the strange rock formations at Devils Marbles.
Mission Beach
This small beach town, close to The Great Barrier Reef is not teaming with backpackers and offers gorgeous beach scenery without the hoards of tourists.
Cape Tribulation
Where rainforest meets beach, get lost in the jungle to get those lush rainforest shots. The Daintree rainforest in Australia is one of the oldest surviving forests in the world- defo one for Instagram.
Crocodile Cruise
Head out on the Adelaide Riverย near Darwin and snap a picture of a wild crocodile. Or visit Crocosaurus Coveย in the city to get up close with the beasts themselves.
Darwin Sunsets and Night Market
Darwin has some awesome sunsets, especially at the Mindil Beach Night Market. Here you will see the sunset over the water, live music, along with numerous stalls selling henna tattoos, food, iced drinks, clothing and art.
Whitehaven Beach
A worldwide famous beach, loved for it’s brilliant white sand which acts as a wonderful natural exfoliater (tried and tested!).
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
So you want that famous picture with a koala or kangaroo? Then Lone Pine in Brisbane is the perfect place. Definitely a most instagrammable place in Australia for those cuddly koala photos.
Great Ocean Road
The great ocean road is one of the world’s most scenic roads. You will travel though small coastal towns, to beaches with wild surf and of course to the 12 Apostles. Instagram-worthy throughout.
Hosier Lane, Melbourne
Melbourne’s street art is everywhere but the most well known spot is definitely Hoiser Lane, where the art changes every week so there always something new to see. Definitely one for Instagram!
Gold Coast Hinterland
This beautiful Australian rainforest is up high so you get that real fresh breeze. Great shots can be found on many of the short or longer walks through the jungles and waterfalls.
Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House
2 of the most iconic sights in Sydney, these impressive structures are worth a visit.
Brisbane City
With the CBD right next to the botanical gardens, this city has a very much relaxed vibe. Once a small country town it has grown bigger and bigger but still keeping that friendly country feel.
Burleigh Heads
This beach town on the Gold Coast is a great place to hang out on the weekends. If you walk up to the lookout you will get stunning views over the beach with the cityscape in the background.

All gorgeous photos! I love Australia, though I’ve only been in Sydney – and yes, I recognized the Harbor Bridge :). I spent time in Bondi Beach, but I don’t remember the pool; you have such a great photo of it.
ahh thanks! Yeh I think the pool is at the end of the beach- didnt go in though haha
These all look amazing, but that Bondi Beach pool is seriously incredible. How amazing to let the surf wash over you while you’re swimming!
yes its pretty special!
As an Aussie I guess I should be ashamed. Out of all of these places I’ve only been to the Great Ocean Road, Hosier Lane, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. I should probably get back home for more travels.

Beautiful! Out of this list I have only been to Brisbane and Lone Pine, but I cannot wait to explore more of Australia. I did not realize before visiting for the first time exactly how big the country is!!!

So many great places in Australia! I still need to get to Uluru. Love the classic koala hug shot. Too cute.
Yeh I had to do the touristy thing with the koalas!
I’m from Melbourne Australia and I can’t believe I’ve been all around the world, and not once visited the great ocean road! I must get myself there! The crocodile one though, that scares the hell out of me, so that one I’ll be sure to leave off the list haha
