NEW ZEALAND TRAVEL GUIDE
New Zealand is the perfect place for adrenaline and adventure lovers. It’s geared up for outdoor activities like hiking, sky diving, white water rafting, boat rides, caving, kayaking, wild swimming and exploring the beautiful beaches.
It’s a country of varying landscapes and travelling by car or coach is the best way. You won’t be able to take your eyes off the window. Every where you turn it seems there is another “wow” moment. Driving through New Zealand, you will see farmland, sheep grazing on green fields, flower filled meadows, snow-capped mountains, turquoise blue lakes and stunning coastline.
New Zealand is a walker’s paradise. Everywhere you go there is a walking trail, from green rolling hills, to glacier trekking or a relaxing stroll through botanical gardens- there’s something for everybody. For those wanting more of a thrill you can sky dive, canyon swing, zipline, abseil, bungy jump and much more.
From Milford Sound in the South to Lake Taupo in the North, there are plenty of stunning lakes to visit and for those who love photography you will love it here! There are also some trendy cities like Wellington and Christchurch- with a great foodie and thriving coffee scene.
SOLO FEMALE TRAVEL IN NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand is one of the safest countries in the world to travel alone. I never felt unsafe here and was impressed by how friendly and welcoming the locals are. They will go out of their way to help you if you find yourself lost.
It’s also super easy to get around using the tourist or local buses, and you can book buses last minute too. There are also plenty of hostels with likeminded backpackers for a bit of company.
BEST TIME TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND
This is a country that’s great any time of year, each season offering something different, so it entirely depends on what you’re looking for. Again, the seasons are the opposite of the Northern hemispheres.
Spring: Ski season is just coming an end, but you can still see some snow-capped mountains in places, plus all the flowers come out and smell incredible along the hiking trails.
Summer: Great weather for outdoor activities and hiking but it will be busy on the trails. Also, prices are higher for accommodation.
Autumn (Fall): Much quieter than summer and incredibly beautiful with the changes of colour in the scenery.
Winter: June to October is peak skiing season, with snow falling in places, however roads remain open so if you are hiring a car this is defiantly still possible.
